In Honor of Jake Krahe
At 18 months old, Jake was diagnosed with Cystinosis, a rare metabolic disease that affects approximately 500 children and young adults in the United States. Cystinosis causes the amino acid cystine to accumulate in the cells of the body, slowly destroying all major organs including the kidneys, liver, eyes, muscles & brain.
Jake has never allowed Cystinosis to define him and has found tremendous enjoyment, friendships, and support, within the youth shotgun shooting sports. As such, our family would like to share an afternoon doing what Jake loves with all our friends and family in support of Jake and all those affected by Cystinosis.
Thus, new for this year, our family will be hosting our first ever Shooting for a Cure charity event on Friday, August 12, 2022, at Hill ‘n Dale Club in Medina, Ohio. The afternoon will feature a 50-target sporting clay tournament followed by a barbeque dinner and auction. The shooting portion of the event is limited to 96 shooters, so those wishing to participate should sign up early! The Shooting Event is Sold Out.
On the day of the event, registration for the 50-target sporting clay tournament will open at 1:30 with a mandatory safety orientation at 2:30. The shooting portion of the event will start at 3:00 with 16 teams of 6 shooters starting from one of the 16 stations on the course. If you don’t have a shotgun there will be a limited number of shotguns for rent for an additional charge at the event. Each group of 6 shooters will have one golf cart for your group to aid in the carrying of shells and equipment. There will be awards presented at the dinner for the top shooters!
All are welcome! Even if you choose not to shoot, please join us for a barbeque dinner and auction beginning at 5:30 p.m. 100% of all money raised will go directly to the Cystinosis Research Foundation to fund research and help raise awareness for Cystinosis that has forever affected our family.
